About Gamely Labs

Gamely Labs makes free, practical calculators for lawn, garden and yard projects, so homeowners can buy the right amount, water the right way and skip the guesswork.

Who runs Gamely Labs

Gamely Labs is built and run by Junaid Arif and is owned by AJ Tech Studio. Junaid designs and writes the calculators and the guides that go with them.

We started Gamely Labs because most yard-project questions come down to simple math that is surprisingly hard to find in one place: how many minutes to run a sprinkler zone, how many bags of soil fill a raised bed, how much fertilizer a lawn really needs. The answers exist in university extension publications and product labels, but they are scattered, full of unit conversions, and rarely tailored to your yard. Our tools do that work for you.

How we build our tools

  • Standard, published methods. Each calculator uses the formulas found in horticulture and irrigation practice and in university extension guides. We don’t invent rules of thumb and present them as facts.
  • The math is always shown. Every tool page explains its formula and walks through a worked example, so you can check any number yourself.
  • Sources are cited. Where a recommendation comes from a specific source, such as a nitrogen limit or a maximum lime rate, the guide names and links it.
  • Your yard, not averages. When an answer depends on something only you can measure, such as how fast your sprinklers apply water, we show you how to measure it instead of guessing.
  • Tested before publishing. We check every calculator against its worked examples before it goes live.

What our tools are, and aren’t

Our calculators give estimates for planning and shopping. They are not a substitute for a soil test, a product’s label, local watering rules or advice from your state’s cooperative extension service, which know your local conditions best. When a guide and a product label disagree, follow the label.
